Day 10, 11, 12, 13

Okay folks, so here's where the shit hits the fan. We knew this was coming and we knew this was going to happen. I literally planned for it when we started this. I know, I know... its ONLY 30 days. But we had a wedding on the 12th that I knew we were going to drink at. And then my friend coming into town on the 10th, who is also doing the Whole 30, I knew we were going to cheat too. It is what it is. I choose to do this 30 day challenge knowing that we had plans that I wasn't willing to budge for - I mean, my friend doesn't come to NYC often and part of the experience is eating the food here.

Anyways, it happened, and were planning on extending the Whole 30 a few extra days to compensate. I know that technically this erases the 9 days before this, but in my mind, I am aiming to change the future of how I eat outside of the 30 days of the Whole 30, I want to get myself into a habit of making healthy choices about 70% of the time each week, with the rest of the time open to drinking, cheese, and sugar.

HOWEVER - I did notice the changes as soon as I started adding back the approach of eating and not thinking about what you're putting into your body. Let's just say I had a lot of wine, cheese, and beer this weekend. And I felt it, too. I was so tired! And I felt bloated. When I was watching what I ate with the Whole 30, I felt lighter and skinnier (even if I wasn't) and I felt like I had more waves of energy, rather than feeling sleepy all of the time. AND... I broke out some. Not a major breakout, but my skin was feeling super healthy and then as soon as I went back to the dark side, I woke up with a painful pimple on my chin the next day.. Oof.

So, now that that's done.. we're ready to get back on track. I realize that I only made it 9 days and I have plenty more ahead. I'm hoping because we cheated this once that it won't become a trend and that I can actually complete this program how it's meant to be done moving forward.

We shall see!
