Day 1

Day 1 of Whole 30 = Complete

Okay. So I said I'd never do it. And I did it. I'm *attempting* the Whole 30 Diet.

Why?

Good Question.

Because I'm crazy?

Because I want to set myself up for failure?

Because I hate myself?

Who knows.

It was an extremely last minute decision. As in, we got back home from vacation on July 31st and I decided, "Hey. This is a good idea. We should try Whole 30 for the month of August" Skylar and I had just gotten back from vacationing in Austin, TX and Hilton Head, SC. Both place we indulged in mudslide cocktails, queso, fried food, fast food, and crazy ice cream concoctions. And that basically has been our whole summer due to traveling and being surrounded by some of the best food in NYC. I always say that I don't want to deprive myself of all the amazing food that we have access to, but then again, I've gained about 30 lbs in the past couple years and it's not a cute look. It's time. Not to mention that we are quickly approaching 30. (Okay, okay, so I still have 1.5 years... but time flies, so shush). It's time for me to learn how to take better care of myself. I'm noticing that my energy levels are all over the place, and that I get this weird throat tickle cough every time I eat ice cream, and that I eat less vegetables than my two year old niece. Time for me to grow up and start branching out to more healthy food and less...Taco Bell.

So here it goes... A journey. Let's hope it lasts. I have a bad habit of starting things and not finishing them. Which makes me nervous. But I'm going to try my hardest

Breakfast: Apple

Lunch/Snacks: Two hard boiled eggs, carrot sticks, kale salad with asparagus and broccoli with an olive oil, lemon juice, and pepper dressing

Coffee with Almond Milk (not sure if this was technically okay since I ordered it at a coffee shop... BUT I myself did not add any sugar sooo)

Dinner: Chicken and green beans

Snack: Strawberries

More tomorrow.
